This year, our popular annual fundraising and social event will be held on Sunday 5 July from 12.30pm at Havenford House, Hannafore Lane, West Looe. Enjoy the great coastal and river views from this spectacularly positioned house.

On 27 March we will show our first film at a new venue: The Community Hall, Looe Children's Centre, Trewint Crescent, Barbican, LOOE PL13 1ET.
This venue offers: more comfortable seating, a bigger screen, better sound and high definition projection. We look forward to seeing you there.
During 2008 Looe Film Society has received grants from: the National Lottery, Cornwall County Council and Cornwall Community Foundation to help us move to a new improved venue at the community hall in Looe Children's Centre.
The move is expected to take place in March 2009. It will allow us to show more films and working in partnership with Cornwall County Council provide films shows especially for children and young people.
Our annual fundraising and social event will be a Spring Lunch Party to be held on Sunday 6 April starting 12 noon at Old Mills, Portlooe, West Looe.

The Annual General Meeting of Looe Film Society will take place on Monday 19 May - at 7.30pm - just before we show the film The Golden Door. Please come to this important meeting
Our annual social will be held on Monday 23 July at 6.00pm on the sports field at Looe Primary School, Hay Lane, Barbican, LOOE (School hall if wet).

Posters advertising our film shows can be downloaded from our website. So if you'd like to help promote our shows where you work or at your business simply go to the Posters page. Posters are A4 sized and in Microsoft Word format.
Recruit a new member and get your admission fee refunded! Simply bring them with you when you come to see a film, and provided they take up membership you get see the film for free. Part year subscriptions (to September) taken out in March or April cost just £8.

Looe Film Society has been awarded a distinction in the Best New Society category at the prestigious Film Society of the Year Awards in London this weekend. More news to follow when we have it.
At a time when the BAFTAs and OSCARs are in the news, Looe Film Society has applied to the British Federation of Film Society's prestigious Film Society of the Year Awards under the Best New Society category. We'll keep you posted on how we get on.
Anyone, provided they are over 18, can now book guest tickets to see a film with us. Guest tickets cost £5 and can be ordered by leaving details on our telephone information line - 0845 868 1021. There is no longer a requirement for members to do this on a guest's behalf.
